AUTOMAKER SPONSORS BLASPHEMOUS
EPISODE OF CBS SITCOM

The Ford Motor Company, having stirred up the ire of AFA and other pro-family groups because of the company’s support of the homosexual agenda, also deeply offended many Christians this December by sponsoring a sacrilegious program on CBS.

On the December 11 episode of Two and a Half Men, sitcom star Charlie Sheen (photo at right) ridiculed and mocked Christ, Christmas and Christians. On the show, Sheen’s character sang a vulgar adaptation of a favorite Christmas carol,   “Joy to the World,” twisting it to be about his promiscuous lifestyle.

Ford sponsored the episode, which only added to the perception that the automaker was becoming insensitive to the faith community. “Ford apparently intends to keep trying to antagonize many within the Christian and pro-family communities,” said AFA Chairman Don Wildmon. “In this case the company sponsored a show in which the birth of Christ is mocked and a song celebrating it is turned into a lewd celebration of fornication.”

It has been Ford’s support of the homosexual agenda that triggered AFA’s call for a boycott in March 2006. The automaker had begun advertising in the gay media and giving donations to homosexual activist groups which supported things like same-sex marriage.

Ford appears intent on siding with gay activists. The company has expanded its promotion of gay publications by advertising in both The Advocate and Out.

The automaker also continues to sponsor TV programs promoting homosexuality. On a recent episode of Cold Case on CBS, Ford sponsored scenes depicting two homosexuals passionately kissing each other.

The company is in the midst of troubled economic times. In November, Ford sales were down 9.7%, while General Motors showed a 6.1% increase and Chrysler sales were up 4.7%. In seven of the nine months since AFA began the boycott, Ford sales have gone down compared to a year ago. (See chart.)

“Sadly, Ford Motor Company has chosen to side with homosexual radicals who want to redefine marriage,” Wildmon said.

He said people who want to learn more about why AFA called for a boycott can visit www.BoycottFord.com. There are several actions people can take in response to the company’s policies and practices.
