Ford’s homosexual support in overdrive

BOYCOTT CONTRIBUTES TO 6.8% SALES DROP IN MAY COMPARED TO ’06 FIGURES

With sales plummeting, employees being laid off and plants being closed, the Ford Motor Company has shown that it has no plans to stop promoting the homosexual lifestyle, including same-sex marriage.

On June 16, Ford helped sponsor the Cleveland, Ohio, Lesbian-Gay-Bi-Trans Pride Parade and Festival. Ford also had a festival booth and banner to market its support for homosexual celebrations.

“This is precisely the sort of thing that first caused us to call for a boycott of Ford,” said AFA Chairman Don Wildmon. “The company has clearly chosen sides in the culture war, ignoring the millions of Americans who don’t think immorality should be celebrated.”

AFA called for a boycott of Ford in March 2006 after the company reneged on an agreement to stop supporting several homosexual groups which, in turn support same-sex marriage.

For 13 of the 15 months since the boycott was called, Ford has watched its sales drop. In May, for example, Ford’s sales dropped 6.8% compared to the same period in 2006 – while May sales increased for General Motors (+9.6%), Chrysler
(+4.3%) and Toyota (+14%).

In June, Wildmon sent a letter to Chairman Bill Ford asking to meet in an effort to work toward ending the boycott.

“Chairman Ford, I am not naive enough to believe that the boycott is the sole reason for Ford’s financial woes,” Wildmon wrote. “However, I am convinced, as are many Ford dealers, that the boycott has had a huge impact on sales. “To be honest, we need to get America’s autoworkers back on the job and Ford dealers back on solid ground. I am hoping that Ford Motor Company is willing to come back to the table and discuss ways of ending the boycott.”

Despite the appeal, however, Chairman Ford did not respond to the letter.

“I think the reason why Chairman Ford did not answer is obvious,” said Wildmon. “He is still committed to supporting the gay agenda, especially same-sex marriage.”

Since the campaign against Ford began, Randy Sharp, AFA director of special projects, said more than 709,000 people have signed a pledge to boycott the automaker.

“This promotion of gay marriage doesn’t sit well with a lot of people,” Sharp said, “and we are willing to let more and more people know what that company is doing with the money that consumers spend on Ford vehicles.”
