In order to provide a one-stop Internet location with a wide variety
of helpful Christian resources, AFA has launched its new American
Family Superstore.
The American Family Superstore is unique among other online stores
due to its partnership with Innovative, Inc., a Greensboro, North
Carolina-based company that filters through all available resources
in an attempt to ensure that all products are Biblically-based.
The online store, which can be accessed through www.afa.net
and other AFA Web sites, contains thousands of resources in over
500 categories. Parents who homeschool their children, for example,
will find they have access to 6,000 resources to help them in that
task.
Larry Haege, president of Innovative (www.thinkinnovative.com),
said he has always had a specific goal in mind for the Superstore:
"Putting the best Christian resources into families hands
to grow the body of Christ."
"And the Internet has become a magnificent tool for putting
products into peoples hands," said AFA Director of Media
Placement Cherry Sims, who worked with Haege on the development
of the Web site service.
"We hope Christians everywhere will take advantage of the
wide variety of items that are available at the American Family
Superstore," she said.
For those seeking books, there are Bible studies, commentaries,
language tools and reference materials, as well as books on a wide
variety of topics, including Christian living, cultural issues,
family, relationships and theology. Spanish translations of many
resources are also available.
The online store carries more specialized selections, such as fiction,
inspirational books, audio books and a wide variety of Bibles.
The music category is chock-full of products as well, carrying
virtually every genre of Christian music. The American Family Superstore
has more than 10,000 accompaniment tracks, and shoppers can click
on their potential selections and hear a sample of the song in different
keys.
Other products include Bible software, educational software, computer
games and screensavers, and a wide variety of videos. There is also
a "featured shopping" section, where gifts for weddings,
graduation, birthdays, Christmas, Mothers Day and Fathers
Day are found.
For convenience, when a product is requested, the store visitor
can use the Web sites "order tracking" option to
find out when the product was shipped and when it should arrive.
There are a number of other features that will be of interest to
pastors and those in teaching ministries. For example, the online
store makes available different Bible versions, commentaries, dictionaries,
devotionals and classics of Christian literature, accessible on
the left sidebar of the site.
For those who want to use the Internet to encourage friends, they
can send an electronic greeting card an "e-card"
easily and for free. The e-cards are powered by Dayspring,
the popular, award-winning Christian greeting card company.
"Just because of its variety and volume of products, we think
the American Family Superstore will be a blessing to visitors to
the Web site," Sims said.
